David Moyes sends Man United scouts to check on Dinamo Bucharest winger Dorin Rotariu

Man United could be set to make a move for Dinamo Bucharest winger Dorin Rotariu in the new year, according to The Mirror.

Rotariu has been in impressive form in Romania this season, and has attracted the interest of United manager David Moyes – who appears keen to increase his creative options in the hopes of salvaging United’s ailing title defence.

With Antonio Valencia being the only firmly established midfielder in United’s team under Moyes’ regime, with Nani and Ashley Young struggling to hold down a regular and firm place in the team, the Scotsman is thought to have sent scouts to check on the progress of the youngster.

Chelsea and Tottenham are also thought to be interested in Rotariu, who has scored six goals this season and made his debut for Romania U-21 earlier this year.

The move could also help ease the pressure on current United sensation Adnan Januzaj, who has performed impressively so far in his debut season but is the subject of concern from Moyes about the way the player is being treated. The former Everton boss could see the Rotariu deal as a means to give Januzaj more time to adapt his game to perhaps better deal with the physical nature of the Premier League, with Moyes having said after the weekend’s victor over Aston Villa: “He is not getting protected and before you know it the boy will get a sore one.

“It is terrible what the officials are allowing to go on at the moment. The opposition players are queuing up to see who can kick him next.”
