Everton line up January move for Rubin Kazan star Yann M'Vila
Everton are monitoring French midfielder Yann M'Vila following reports that the 23-year-old could leave Rubin Kazan next month, according to talkSPORT.
M’Vila started his career at Rennes where he made 126 appearances, scoring twice, but moved to Russia in January for around £9.6m. He counts north London rivals Arsenal and Spurs as former potential suitors, but appeared destined to remain at Rennes before his shock move at the turn of the year.
It looks like he could repeat that transition this time, and was spotted sitting among travelling Liverpool fans during the Merseyside derby earlier in December – sparking reports that a move to Anfield could be on the cards.
It now appears that it is the blue half of the town, however, that are set to make a move though Napoli are also keen and keeping an eye on his situation.
M’Vila has won 22 caps for his native France thus far, but his international career hit an unexpected roadblock in late 2012, when he was banned from participation from international games for an unauthorised night out while on U-21 duty. The ban expires in June 2014 – and so while a place in the World Cup appears unlikely, the defensive midfielder has time on his side and will hope to rebuild his career in Europe ahead of the European Championships in his homeland.
