Chelsea manager Mourinho labels Arsenal boring
Thursday 26 December 2013
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has branded title rivals Arsenal ‘boring’ for failing to score in the 0-0 draw between the two clubs at the Emirates Stadium on Monday, Sky Sports is reporting.
Mourinho’s side were booed off by the home fans, who perceived their tactics to be negative, but the 50-year-old responded by saying that the Gunners should have received such disapproval for their performance in the stalemate.
He said: "I think boring is a team that plays at home and cannot score a goal. That's boring. If somebody was boring, they were boring because Petr Cech made zero saves.
"You go to your stadium and you fill your stadium, in weather like we had on Monday, to see victories. There is not a home fan in any club in the world who goes to the stadium and expects his team not to win."
Mourinho went on to say that the result was down to preparation, adding: "We played Sunderland last Tuesday and we had one week to work which we didn't have since the summer.I had three days to work tactically. I worked on everything because it was a special week for us. It was the kind of week Liverpool has every week."
