Man City’s Lescott warns of Crystal Palace threat
Saturday 28 December 2013
Manchester City defender Joleon Lescott has warned his side not to expect an easy game when Crystal Palace visit the Etihad Stadium on Saturday, Sky Sports has reported.
Currently second in the Premier League, a point behind leaders Arsenal, Man City have won all nine of their home matches this season, scoring an impressive 37 goals in the process. Their latest victory came on Boxing Day, when goals from captain Vincent Kompany and striker Alvaro Negredo saw them come from behind to beat Liverpool.
Crystal Palace have been rejuvenated since Tony Pulis took over as manager towards the end of November. The Welshman has guided them to three wins in December, and overall they have kept six clean sheets in their previous nine outings, including on Boxing Day when they secured a vital win at Aston Villa to move out of the bottom three.
And Lescott acknowledges that Man City cannot take anything for granted against the Eagles. He said: "Make no mistake, Palace will be a very strong test. They're coming off the back of a great win at Aston Villa. Their form has picked up since Tony Pulis has come in. He's an experienced and organised manager so we know we're going to be in for a game."
