Stoke vs Leicester - Match preview and team news

Championship leaders Leicester City visit Stoke City for an East Midlands derby on Saturday in the FA Cup third round.

Stoke were heading towards a place in the top half of the Premier League on Wednesday against Everton, only for Jermaine Pennant to make a rash challenge and see the resultant penalty converted. The 2011 FA Cup finalists will be content with how the season has gone so far, however, as they have successfully stayed away from trouble until now.

Four points clear of Burnley at the top of the Championship, Leicester are now in a very strong position to return to the Premier League after an absence of 10 years, during which they even spent one season in the third tier. Their run of four consecutive league wins makes it look certain that they will give the hosts a difficult afternoon and maybe pull off a cup upset.

Oussama Assaidi - on loan from Liverpool - looks unlikely to be allowed to play for Stoke, who are definitely without goalkeeper Asmir Begovic and defenders Robert Huth and Andy Wilkinson.

Leicester could recall Matt James, Ritchie de Laet, Paul Konchesky, Daniel Drinkwater and Jeffrey Schlupp, after they were all rested for the victory at Millwall.
