Swansea set to beat Liverpool to signing of Blackpool star Ince

Swansea have confirmed that they hope to beat Liverpool to the signing of Blackpool star Tom Ince, according to The Metro.

Tom Ince

The Swans are in negotiations with Blackpool over the transfer of Ince, while Liverpool have twice failed to re-sign the midfielder in recent transfer windows.

Ince had joined Liverpool with his first professional contract, but failed to make an appearance for the Anfield club before joining Blackpool on a permanent deal in 2011, having previously only made appearances for Notts County during a loan spell.

He has established himself as one of the lower league’s top players, and has been the subject of much interest from the Premier League but has previously rebuffed advances in favour of remaining in Blackpool, recently playing under his father – former Liverpool star Paul Ince – and was reluctant to uproot and unsettle his young family.

Swansea’s Welsh rivals Cardiff were also in the frame for Ince last summer, but again the 21-year-old opted to remain with the Tangerines.

He has recently rejected a new contract offer from Blackpool, however, and now a move to Wales looks like it could be on the cards as Swansea manager Michael Laudrup looks to inject fresh blood in his first team.

The deal could cost Swansea in the region of £5m, but Liverpool continue to weigh up their options in making an approach for the midfielder. At the moment, however, Swansea appear clear favourites to finally prise the highly rated star from Bloomfield Road.

Correct if LFC want him they will sign him. And not only that but we have a sell on clause so what ever the swans pay for him we get a percentage. NICE!!
