Moyes to be given hefty transfer kitty by Man Utd
Manchester United manager David Moyes has been told he can spend heavily in the winter transfer window, ESPN has reported, as the Premier League champions find themselves off the pace in defence of their title and out of the FA Cup.
Moyes has however been warned by the club’s chief executive not to rush into any signings and spend the money - said to be £100m - unwisely. Moyes made only one signing in the summer transfer window, bringing Marouane Fellaini from former club Everton on deadline day.

United attempted to sign midfielder Ander Herrera from Athletic Bilbao on deadline day but it is understood Moyes will not return with a renewed bid for the player, while he has maintained an interest in Leighton Baines. Everton were nevertheless reluctant to sell the left-back in the summer and are not thought to have altered their position.
Koke, the Atletico Madrid midfielder, is another name said to have been on Moyes’ wanted list but the report claims an approach for the 21-year-old stands little chance of being successful.
United are currently seventh in the league table, 11 points adrift of leaders Arsenal and four behind Moyes’ former employers, who are fifth. Swansea City knocked United out of the FA Cup at Old Trafford on Saturday but Moyes can take a step towards the final of the Capital One Cup on Tuesday as United travel to Sunderland for the semi-final first-leg.
