Man Utd vs Swansea - Premier League preview and team news

Swansea City come to Old Trafford for the second successive week, and a repeat of their last result will pile more misery on Manchester United.

For the first time since 2001, Man Utd have lost three games in a row, and the questions over David Moyes’ job suitability and the quality of the squad he has at his disposal have returned. Since the turn of the year, the champions have reverted to their performances of before the six match winning run, struggling to create chances, and looking generally average. Sitting 11 points behind leaders Arsenal, victory here is crucial for all concerned.

Despite their fine result against the same team in their FA Cup tie last time out, Swansea are in need of Premier League points, as they look to avoid slipping closer to the drop zone. Although they lost their last league fixture against Manchester City, that was a very good performance, and they will need Wilfried Bony to maintain his excellent form here to gain another positive result.

Robin van Persie continues to be a big miss for Man Utd, although Wayne Rooney could return from a groin injury. Nani and Ashley Young are out, but the hosts are hopeful that Phil Jones and Rio Ferdinand could play a part.

Swansea are still without injured duo Miguel Michu and Nathan Dyer, and they have received even more bad news with Jonathan de Guzman, Pablo Hernandez and Roland Lamah all confirmed to be out.
