Darren Fletcher has said that his team-mates have been angered with recent media criticism surrounding Manchester United and that they are ready to turn their season around, according to ManUtd.com.

Manchester United have had a difficult time in the press this season but managed to gain their first victory of 2014 on Saturday with a 2-0 defeat of Swansea, despite claims that the team are not fully behind manager David Moyes.

Fletcher hit back at the press and said: "I think we have just got to be believe in ourselves and keep a close-knit group, keep making sure that the experienced players are guiding the younger players in the right way and that we are coming together as a team. I think winning games helps that, it is the only way you get through that and we have got to keep doing that.”

In particular the press has recently focused on former Reds manager Sir Alex Ferguson’s attendance to the club’s matches.

"We are there every day and we realise that the players are fully behind the manager. Alex Ferguson being in the stand has no bearing on anything, it is great to see him there supporting the team and I think it would be a worry if he wasn't,” added Fletcher.

So far this season Moyes has struggled to rekindle the form the team showed under Sir Alex, with the Red Devils having suffered three consecutive defeats for the first time since 2001 before victory against Swansea.
