Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has praised playmaker Santi Cazorla after his two goals ensured that the Gunners beat Fulham on Saturday to stay top of the Premier League, reports the London Evening Standard.

After a scoreless first period, Cazorla finally broke the deadlock on 57 minutes as he finshed off a lovely passing move with an emphatic finish. Five minutes later, the Spaniard made the game safe with a low drive from the edge of the penalty area past an unsighted Maarten Stekelenburg.

Although Fulham created a few chances, the home side ran out comfortable winners, and it keeps them top with 16 games still to play. And Wenger had praise for Cazorla after his decisive impact. He said: "When you play in your opponents' half, in the final third, he is one of the players who can create something special, either through his pass or through his finishing. He is two-footed, and that makes him very dangerous."

Wenger added: "Cazorla was out for a long time at the start of the season and had some injury problems. After that he had an ankle problem and only recently, since mid-December, has he come back to his level."
