The Toffees have also been warned about their future conduct after the FA ruled that the club had breached its Football Agent Regulations.

Lascelles was under scholarship agreement with Forest at the time when Everton made their unauthorised approach at the end of 2010.

Andy Niedwiecki, the agent representing the defender, admitted his part in the breach and was fined £10,000. Lascelles given a ‘severe’ warning as to his future conduct.

According to the FA, the time frame for any appeal has passed and Everton have accepted the punishment handed down to them by the governing body.

The 20-year-old went on the sign his first professional contract with Forest in 2011 and signed a new four-year deal in 2012, but is now being linked with several Premier League sides.

The centre-back is still with the Championship side since making his debut in 2012 and has gone on to make 15 appearances for the team so far this season. He remains under contract with Forest until 2016.
