Fulham midfielder Kacaniklic signs new contract at Craven Cottage
Fulham midfielder Alexander Kacaniklic has signed a one year-contract extension with the London side, according to Sky Sports.
The 22-year-old’s contract ran out in the summer but the Cottagers have decided to keep the player for another year.
The Sweden international joined Fulham from Liverpool in 2010 and has made 36 appearances for the London side.
Originally as part of the deal that saw defender Paul Konchesky move to Anfield, Kacaniklic has only started 10 Premier League games for Fulham and has scored five goals for his team.
The young midfielder’s last appearance for the London club came in the 3-1 home defeat to Manchester United back in November.
Several other Fulham players, such as Philippe Senderos, Steve Sidwell and John Arne Riise, are also out of contract in the summer.
With his side sitting just a point above the relegation zone, Fulham manager Rene Meulensteen is focused on strengthening his squad for the remainder of the season.
