Sunderland vs Kidderminster - Match preview and team news

Capital One Cup finalists Sunderland will be hoping to avoid a major FA Cup shock on Saturday against Kidderminster Harriers, the only non-league team still in the competition.

There were jubilant scenes among the visiting players and fans at Old Trafford on Wednesday as Sunderland held there nerve to book their place at Wembley in March. While they will see Premier League safety as essential, they would not turn down a lengthy FA Cup run either, and they will expect to win this tie comfortably, although manager Gustavo Poyet is expected to make changes.

Kidderminster will be aiming to emulate the achievement of Luton Town last season, when the Hatters sensationally won at Norwich City to become the first non-league side in decades to beat a top-flight club. They showed wonderful spirit and determination in their third round replay at Peterborough United, but this time they will be without their match-winner Joe Lolley, who has since signed for Huddersfield Town.

Kieren Westwood and Carlos Cuellar remain Sunderland’s only absentees, but players such as El-Hadji Ba and Charis Mavrias could make rare starts. New signings Oscar Ustari and Santiago Vergini could also feature.

With Lolley gone, Kidderminster will be relying on Michael Gash and Anthony Malbon to score their goals.
