Fulham Head Coach Rene Meulensteen has warned his players not to underestimate Sheffield United when they meet in the FA Cup fourth round, the Daily Express has reported.

The League One strugglers - who slipped into the relegation zone on Saturday due to other results - produced their best performance of the season in the third round to stun Premier League club Aston Villa, so they will be looking for their second successive top-flight scalp here.

The Cottagers have been on a poor run of results themselves, but remain just outside the Premier League relegation zone. Their biggest problem this season has been their porous defence, and Meulensteen has told his players not to take Nigel Clough’s side lightly.

The Dutchman said: “I warned the players they can’t be complacent,” the Fulham head coach said. “This will be a very difficult game. Sheffield United will try to chase everything and the crowd will get behind them.

“The key for us is to make sure we remain calm and focused. But if you don’t match their fighting spirit and enthusiasm you could be in for a tough ride.”
