Blackpool star Ince set for Premier League loan switch

Monday 27 January 2014

Blackpool winger Thomas Ince it set to join a Premier League club, understood to be Swansea City, on loan for the rest of the season, Sky Sports has reported.

Thomas Ince

Ince turned down a move to Cardiff City last summer in favour of staying at Bloomfield Road, where he has been since joining from Liverpool in the summer of 2011. He started the season well with Blackpool, but a run of eight defeats in 10 games has seen them slip into the bottom half, and has resulted in the sacking of manager Paul Ince, Thomas’ father.

The youngster’s contract runs out at the end of the season, and Swansea are set to secure his services until then, although they still have to fight off reported interest from four other Premier League clubs, including Hull City and Stoke City.

In a statement, Blackpool said: "Following discussions with Thomas Ince and his representative, permission has been given for Thomas to discuss a loan move to a Premier League club.

"Thomas has expressed his ambition to play in the Premier League for the remainder of the season, a decision that the club fully understands and supports."
