Crystal Palace manager Pulis refutes claims he could leave Eagles

Monday 27 January 2014

Crystal Palace manager Tony Pulis has refuted suggestions that he could be set to walk through the exit door at Selhurst Park after struggling to sign new players for the Eagles in the January transfer window, writes Sky Sports.

Tony Pulis

Pulis was only appointed as manager at the club in November, having been sacked from his post at Stoke City last summer. Palace are yet to make any new signings during the current window as they sit tentatively above the relegation zone, having occupied bottom spot earlier this season. Only two points separate them from the drop zone, and fans had called for squad reinforcements to maximise their chances of achieving a first-ever Premier League survival.

With those calls yet to be answered, speculation began to circulate that Pulis could leave out of frustration, but Pulis has put these reports down to nothing more than the media trying to make headlines for themselves.

β€œIt sells papers,” said the 56-year-old.

β€œI've never done that before and I'm not going to do that now. It is a lot of nonsense. I came here to do a job and I want to get that job done.”
