Heitinga waiting on Galatasaray move

Galatasaray are interested in signing John Heitinga from Everton, Voetbal International has reported, but the Coach of the Turkish giants, Roberto Mancini, wants to consider other options before completing the deal.

John Heitinga

Heitinga has been out of favour under Roberto Martinez this season, making only a handful of appearances in all competitions, and his contract with the Toffees expires this summer.

With the World Cup in mind it is thought Heitinga wants to play regularly between now and the end of the season to safeguard his place in the Netherlands set-up under Louis van Gaal, but turned down the chance to move to West Ham earlier this month.

A transfer to Serie A side Roma didn’t materialise, the Dutch publication adds, while the 30-year-old’s move to Gala rests of Mancini giving the go-ahead before the transfer window shuts at the end of this week.

Heitinga moved to Goodison Park in the summer of 2009, leaving Atletico Madrid for Merseyside, having come through the ranks at Ajax. Heitinga will link up with former Ajax teammate and compatriot Wesley Sneijder should his Galatasaray move go through.

If Roma are out then JH is probably going nowhere. We had all of this messing about with Yobo.Sorry,Turkish fans but this messing about is no good for the player, let alone the clubs.
