Juan Mata says he has felt comfortable at Man United from the minute he arrived, and has tipped his new team to start climbing the Premier League table, according to Sky Sports.

Mata joined United late last week for a club record £37.1m, and made his Reds debut in the home game against Cardiff on Tuesday night, playing all but the final seven minutes.

With United having endured an underwhelming season by their own standards, presently occupying seventh in the Premier League table, the 25-year-old believes things are about to get a bit more familiar for the club’s fans – back to winning ways.

He said: “I have felt comfortable at this club from the first minute. Time has gone so quickly but the welcome has been amazing. The lads are really good and there is a great atmosphere.

“I am always positive. If any club can come back and climb the table, it is this one.

“It will take time but hopefully we can go back up the table. That is what we have been talking about in the dressing room. We will try to win as many games as we can to the end of the season, hopefully all of them.”

Mata put in a good performance in his first match as a Red Devil, but has promised that his best is yet to come in the famous shirt: “To be honest I didn't train that much last week because of the transfer. I know I can improve,” he continued.
