Holtby expects Tottenham exit

The agent of Lewis Holtby has said the Germany midfielder expects to leave Tottenham Hotspur before the transfer window closes on Friday, according to Sky Sports.

Holtby moved to White Hart Lane 12 months ago in a £1.25m transfer from Schalke but has struggled to nail down a place in the team.

Now the 23-year-old’s representative, Marcus Noack, has said a departure is likely, although Spurs’ demands mean a loan exit is more possible than a permanent move. “My feeling is that he will leave but it's not in our hands at the moment,” Noack said.

“Tottenham have to agree to let him go first. We hope to find a solution in the next couple of days. I think it will be a loan because it is difficult for anyone to buy Lewis.”

It is reported Tottenham want between £8m and £10m, while former Germany international Christoph Metzelder has claimed Holtby was seen near to the bases of Schalke and Borussia Dortmund, with both clubs said to be among the interested parties.
