Cardiff vs Norwich - Premier League preview and team news

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be going all out for his first league win as Cardiff City manager in what is probably the Bluebirds’ biggest game of the season so far.

After two tough away games in Manchester, rock-bottom Cardiff will be grateful to return home for what is a must-win game in their battle for Premier League survival, especially with several of their relegation rivals also playing at home on Saturday. Two wins in the FA Cup is all Solskjaer has to show for his efforts so far, and with the Welsh derby with Swansea City coming next, this is a crucial period in Cardiff’s season.

Four points from two home games has eased the pressure on Norwich somewhat, but despite two clean sheets, they still proved that scoring goals continues to be a major problem, as they have managed to score just 18 times in the Premier League all season, a record superior only to Crystal Palace, and opponents Cardiff. As it stands, they are five points clear of danger, though defeat here could see them plummet back down towards the drop zone.

Andrew Taylor is unlikely to feature for Cardiff, but the home side are hopeful that Mark Hudson and Jordon Mutch can overcome minor injuries in time to play a part.

Norwich could give a debut to Joseph Yobo, after the former Everton defender arrived on loan from Fenerbahce. Jonas Gutierrez is available again after being ineligible for the game against his parent club, Newcastle United.
