Man United winger Zaha moves to Cardiff on loan
Wilfried Zaha has joined Cardiff from Man United on loan until the end of the season, according to Sky Sports.
Zaha had been linked with different Premier League clubs throughout this month’s transfer window, but former United striker Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was able to convince the 21-year-old to spend the rest of the season with the Welsh outfit.
The Norwegian manager has already signed several players as he seeks to battle for Cardiff’s Premier League survival, with Zaha following the likes of Fabio, Kenwyne Jones, Magnus Wolff Eikrem, Mats Moller Daehli and Jo Inge Berget to the Cardiff City Stadium.
Solskjaer was understandably delighted with the signing of the former Crystal Palace player, saying: “That signing should be done by now. His name is on the paperwork. He is a Cardiff player.
“He has pace, power, technical ability and goes past people. He will give us that extra change of tempo in the final third, where we really need it. He will bring that little final bit to find pockets of space and produce a bit of magic.”
Solskjaer was also keen to establish his viewpoint that Zaha has not made the move due to having anything to prove, but simply to get the playing time he wants.
He continued: “I don't think he has something to prove, he wants to play. He played a few games at United, but maybe not what he hoped for when he went there.
“He wants to play, to play with confidence and keep Cardiff in the Premier League.”
