Moyes says Man United won't be making any deadline day signings
David Moyes has ruled out the prospect of Man United making any transfer deadline day signings, according to The Daily Star.
The Old Trafford boss has broken the club’s transfer record with the recent £37.1m signing of Juan Mata from Chelsea, and while he acknowledges that his rebuilding work is still far from finished he concludes that the next big bit of business is likely to have to wait until the summer, despite a host of players being linked with deadline-busting moves to the Premier League champions.
Moyes said: “You can stand down the Sky cameras at the end of the road - they will not be required because we have done our business.
“It's not a disappointment if we don't sign someone else. I said at the start that we wouldn't be doing a lot of business in January for a lot of different reasons.”
United have endured a lackluster season by their own standards, finding themselves occupying seventh in the league table. They will do battle with former striker Mark Hughes when they travel to Stoke on Saturday afternoon.
Reds winger Wilfried Zaha has been allowed to leave on loan, linking up with former United striker Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Cardiff until the end of the season.
