Southampton striker Osvaldo set for Juventus loan move
Southampton striker Dani Osvaldo is having a medical at Serie A leaders Juventus ahead of a loan move to the club, according to Sky Sports.
The 28-year-old joined Saints just six months ago but is set to leave the club following a training ground bust-up with team-mate Jose Fonte.
"Italian international striker Pablo Daniel Osvaldo is visiting Turin's Clinica Fornaca di Sessant, Isokinetic and Istituto di Medicina dello Sport centres today for medical examinations,” Juventus announced on their website.
The Italian international became Southampton’s record signing when he joined for £15 million from Roma in August but was suspended for two weeks after an incident at his club’s training ground.
The striker has failed to make an impact at St Mary’s having only scored three goals in 12 appearances so far this season and with his history of disciplinary problems he is expected to move swiftly from the club.
According to manager Mauricio Pochettino, Osvaldo will not play for the team again and the approach from Juventus suited everyone involved.
The deal is expected to go through following a medical with the Turin club and could become a permanent move in the summer.
