Stoke set to hijack Crystal Palace's move for Blackpool star Ince

Stoke could be set to make an eleventh hour bid to hijack Tom Ince’s proposed loan move to Crystal Palace, and hope to sign the Blackpool midfielder on a permanent basis, according to Sky Sports.

Tom Ince

The 22-year-old, who joined Blackpool in 2011 and has gone on to enjoy a growing reputation in English football, had also been linked with a move to Monaco but Palace had looked favourites to land the coveted former Liverpool youth star before Potters boss Mark Hughes made the late move.

The England U-21 international has previously rejected moves away from Blackpool in favour of remaining in the seaside town with his young family.

He spent time playing under his father Paul during the ex-England captain’s time as manager at Bloomfield Road, but Ince Sr. was dismissed as boss at the Tangerines earlier this month.

Stoke are facing an impending relegation battle and Welshman Hughes is keen to bring in what reinforcements he can before the end of transfer deadline day, and hopes that the prospect of a permanent transfer will be enough to turn Ince’s head towards the Britannia Stadium.

More on this story will follow if and when details become available.
