Chelsea manager Mourinho blasts clubs for not respecting Financial Fair Play

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has claimed that not all clubs were showing their commitment to UEFA’s Financial Fair Play regulations, according to The Daily Mail.

The Blues boss did not mention Manchester City by name but hinted that some clubs were still spending heavily on transfers and finding ways to hide their spending rather than adjusting to the rules.

“Some clubs are feeling FFP as a fair FFP, and some others are feeling FFP as a dodgy FFP,” said Mourinho.

“We don’t want emergency plans, it’s not our profile now. The players we're signing now are the right ones for our future: Matic, Salah, Zouma, a young kid for the future.”

Earlier this year, City posted a loss of almost £51 million for the last financial year, taking losses over the past two years to £150 million but had millions written off against the FFP rules because of investments in facilities and youth development.

Despite the Manchester side’s spending, Chelsea also recorded a loss £49.5 million last financial year and were able to write-off part to satisfy the rules.

Whilst both clubs have been renowned for their heavy spending in recent seasons, the London club has already wrapped the £12.5 million deal for defender Kurt Zouma on deadline day to add to recent acquisition of Mohammed Salah for £11 million.

Chelsea travel to top of the table City on Monday in a vital clash for the Premier League title.
