Crystal Palace loan Campana to Nurnberg
Jose Campana has left Premier League side Crystal Palace on loan for the rest of the season, Sky Sports has reported, joining Bundesliga outfit Nurnberg.
Campana only joined Palace in the summer but has struggled to win a place in the Eagles’ line-up, making only six league appearances. His last game for Palace came in October, in the 4-1 home loss to Fulham.
Nurnberg have the option to sign the 20-year-old on a permanent basis in the summer. Campana has a contract with the Selhurst Park club until 2017, having been signed by Ian Holloway but fallen out of favour under his successor, Tony Pulis.
The Seville-born midfielder moved to Palace from Seville, where he played 20 games for the senior side and more than 50 for the Andalusians’ B team.
Campana has represented Spain at every level bar the senior national team, going from Under-16 to Under-21. He was part of the Spain Under-19 side that twice won the UEFA Under-19 European Championships, in 2011 and 2012, captaining the side for the latter tournament. He did however miss a penalty in the semi-final shootout with France.
