Tottenham Hotspur Head Coach Tim Sherwood has said he will not have any new faces on transfer deadline day, according to ESPN.

Spurs, under Andre Villas-Boas, had an active summer window, selling Gareth Bale to Real Madrid and signing the likes of Erik Lamela, Christian Eriksen and Etienne Capoue.

But Sherwood, who replaced Villas-Boas in December, told a Press conference that he will doesn’t expect any arrivals - although, he added tongue-in-cheek, he might be tempted by a certain player.

“There is a zero per cent chance of us signing anyone,” Sherwood said, adding: “Lionel Messi would be great wouldn't he, he'd be brilliant. Let's hope we can get him in the eleventh hour, but I don't think that's going to happen.

“We signed seven players in the summer, not a lot of others did that. So we are happy with that.

“It is very, very unlikely anyone comes in unless something dramatic happens. I'm happy with the squad, I'm happy with the numbers and if the window was shut now, I'd be very happy with this squad.”
