Lloris wants Tottenham in Champions League
Hugo Lloris wants Tottenham Hotspur to qualify for the Champions League this season, Sky Sports has reported, but the France goalkeeper acknowledges it will be difficult to finish in the Premier League’s top four.
Spurs’ 1-1 draw with Hull on Saturday has left Tim Sherwood’s team in sixth place, three points behind Liverpool who currently hold the final Champions League qualification spot.
Shane Long gave Hull the lead but Paulinho’s equaliser delivered a point, with Lloris admitting that finishing fourth is a harder proposition this season than in years past.
“I am lucky to play in a competitive team, but there are six or seven clubs fighting for Champions League positions,” Lloris said.
“This season teams will need a very high number of points for those positions, but it remains possible for us.
“We are in a difficult situation with our goal difference, but we will fight until the end. It doesn't change our ambition, even if it is a bit more difficult for a team in competition for a top-four finish.”
