Swansea City captain Ashley Williams has said he is “embarrassed and frustrated” by the team’s form in recent weeks, according to Sky Sports.

The Swans were beaten by West Ham on Saturday to make it six defeats and only one win in their last 10 Premier League games.

Michael Laudrup’s side are 12th, two points clear of the bottom three.

“"It's not nice. I don't enjoy it. It hurts, it's embarrassing,” Williams said.

“We have lost too many games and conceded too many goals. It does my head in and I am as frustrated as anyone involved with Swansea because we're all responsible.

“It's hard for us to look at the league table, it's not nice viewing for us. It's the first time I've been involved in that since I have been at Swansea and it's not a nice position to be in.”

Swansea went into the game at Upton Park on the back of a midweek win over Fulham and Williams was particularly annoyed they were unable to build on the victory..

“We made it hard work. I don't know, it was just disappointing. We wanted to build on momentum, we spoke about that before the game.

“We'd had two good wins and we wanted to at least not lose the game, but we conceded two rubbish goals so we didn't give ourselves a chance.”
