Tottenham keeper Lloris targets top four finish
Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has targeted Champions League qualification for his side this season, according to Sky Sports.
Spurs currently sit in sixth place in the Premier League on 44 points, 11 points off the top and three points off the last UEFA Champions League spot currently held by Liverpool.
The French shot stopper believes that the fight for Champions League spots will go to the very end of the season with Spurs, Liverpool, Everton and Manchester United hoping to stay close behind the three title contenders.
"I am lucky to play in a competitive team, but there are six or seven clubs fighting for Champions League positions,” said Lloris.
"This season teams will need a very high number of points for those positions, but it remains possible for us.”
Although the London club are still in the mix, the team have a goal difference of minus one, significantly worse than any other team in the top nine of the table.
Heavy defeats to Manchester City have left Spurs at a disadvantage but Lloris vows to battle until the end of the season.
"We are in a difficult situation with our goal difference, but we will fight until the end,” added the 27-year-old.
"It doesn't change our ambition, even if it is a bit more difficult for a team in competition for a top-four finish."
