Joseph Yobo has spoken of his excitement about making his debut for Norwich, according to Sky Sports.

The former Everton man joined on loan from Fenerbahce late in the window and could now make his debut against Manchester City on Saturday. The Nigerian spent eight seasons with the Toffees before permanently switching to Turkey in 2012, but has now made the return to England.

“I'm excited that I had this opportunity to come back to England,” Yobo said.

“It's probably the best league in the world, and it's a new challenge so I'm looking forward to it.”

The 33-year-old admitted that there were a number of clubs who were interested in his signature but Canaries manager Chris Hughton persuaded him to choose the East Anglia side.

“There were loads of clubs from abroad who were interested in me, but the manager here convinced me and I wanted to come back to the Premier League,” added Yobo.

“We had a week break for Christmas in Turkey but then two weeks of training after that and it was good, so I'm ready to go.”

Yobo will now hope to help Norwich avoid the drop in their battle to stay in the Premier League as the club sit just two points above the relegation zone.
