Man City waiting on possible Toure ban
Manchester City are waiting to hear if Yaya Toure will be banned for the incident with Norwich City’s Ricky van Wolfswinkel, the Daily Telegraph has reported.
Toure appeared to kick the Netherlands international towards the end of the 0-0 draw on Saturday between their respective sides in an altercation not seen by the officials. It came towards the end of the game with van Wolfswinkel on the ground.
The Football Association will read the report of referee Jon Moss before deciding what action, if any, to take against the Ivory Coast midfielder. If found guilty of violent conduct Toure could be banned for three games.
City’s next three domestic games see them face Sunderland on Wednesday, Chelsea in the FA Cup on Saturday and Stoke City in the Premier League in late February, with the Champions League first-leg tie with Barcelona coming between games against the Blues and the Potters.
The draw with the Canaries saw City slip to third, a point behind Arsenal, who went second after their heavy loss to Liverpool, and two behind Chelsea, who beat Newcastle 3-0 at Stamford Bridge.
