West Brom vs Chelsea - Premier League preview and team news

Tuesday 11 February 2014

Chelsea will be aiming to cement their place at the top of the Premier League with a win over lowly West Bromwich Albion.

The Baggies were made to pay for a sloppy first half display as they lost away to relegation rivals Crystal Palace on Saturday, a result which consigned them to a place in the bottom three. Indeed, since coming so close to pulling off a stunning victory at Stamford Bridge in November, things have gone downhill rapidly for the West Midlands side.

Meanwhile, Chelsea have endured no such problems, winning all but one of their Premier League matches since Boxing Day. Last time out, they showed no let-up from their win at Manchester City, with some lovely football and a hat-trick from the very much in-form Eden Hazard accounting for Newcastle United, a win which lifted them to the summit.

Thievy Bifouma could start for Albion after scoring as a subsitute on Saturday. Jonas Olsson, Nicolas Anelka and Stephane Sessegnon are all absent.

The leaders will be without captain John Terry for a second consecutive game, but Fernando Torres returns from injury.
