Everton vs Crystal Palace - Premier League preview and team news

Wednesday 12 February 2014

Crystal Palace will be looking for three more vital points in their battle for survival as they travel to Goodison Park to face Everton.

The home side need the victory for very different reasons, having lost ground on the top four at the weekend due to a narrow defeat to rivals Tottenham. The result was somewhat harsh on Roberto Martinez' team, who dominated the early exchanges, but it meant they are now five points behind Liverpool, who currently occupy the final Champions League place.

There was yet more home delight for Crystal Palace on Saturday as they overcame relegation rivals West Bromwich Albion at Selhurst Park. Thomas Ince and Joe Ledley both scored on their debuts to cap a fine afternoon for the Eagles, who extended their advantage over the bottom three ahead of this tough encounter.

Lacina Traore will make his debut for Everton, but is likely to start on the bench. Darrin Gibson, Arouna Kone and Bryan Oviedo are all sidelined by injury.

The visitors have no new injury concerns, but Glenn Murray and Jerome Thomas may not be fit enough to start.
