Former Arsenal forward Thierry Henry expects to return to London after his New York Red Bulls contract expires, ESPN has reported.

Henry’s deal with the MLS side expires at the end of 2014 and the former Barcelona striker insists he isn’t considering retirement but feels the English capital is where he belongs long-term.

“I've got a year left on my contract and I still feel good so I'm going to enjoy it and we'll see come the end of the year,” the 36-year-old said.

“You know yourself when it's the moment to go. When I get that feeling, I'll stop, but that's not yet the case. But when I do retire, I think I will stay connected to football in some way.

“I feel good in New York, but my life is in London. I have my daughter there, my house. I think my future is in that city.”

Henry moved to Arsenal in 1999 having spent a short period at Juventus following a move from Monaco. Henry scored 226 goals in 369 games for the Gunners, captaining the side in his latter seasons and winning the Premier League title twice and the FA Cup three times.
