Crystal Palace manager Tony Pulis has said that while Manchester United boss David Moyes has had a tough start at the club, he will succeed, according to Sky Sports.

Moyes is currently in his first season as United manager and so far his team have exited both domestic cups and currently sit in seventh place in the Premier League.

Pulis, who will face Manchester United on Saturday, believes the Reds’ performances haven’t been reflected in their results. “David's had a tough start at Manchester United,” Pulis said.

“The things that they're not getting, like last year with Sir Alex and I think he'd be the first to say it, they did have breaks, they never played as well as what they did the previous year but they had the breaks and they've won the games.

“Unfortunately with Dave they haven't had the breaks, so they've not been able to pick up momentum.”

The 56-year-old has said that Moyes needs time with the team, and needs the club to afford him the same faith they had for his predecessor Ferguson.

“They've got a great manager. In time David will turn it to how he wants it. You've got to give him time.

“You've got to give him the opportunity to do it, just like they gave Sir Alex, when Sir Alex first came into the job. They gave him the opportunity to turn the club round,” added Pulis.

Despite United’s misfortunes, Palace are also seeking three points when the two clubs meet on Saturday, as they sit just two points above the relegation zone.
