Cardiff vs Hull - Premier League preview and team news

Lowly Cardiff City have what they will see as a must-win game on Saturday in their battle against relegation, with Hull City providing the opposition.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has struggled for wins so far since taking over from Malky Mackay, leaving Cardiff second from bottom and deep in trouble. Having taken only one point from games against Swansea City and Aston Villa, this match takes on added importance, with meetings with several of their fellow strugglers still to come between now and the end of the season.

Unlike their opponents, Hull did not succumb to Championship opponents in the FA Cup fifth round, but were forced to settle for a replay by Brighton & Hove Albion. In the Premier League, they are still just three points above the relegation zone and looking anxiously over their shoulders, but in Nikica Jelavic and Shane Long, they appear to have the firepower to lift them to safety.

Cardiff are set to make several changes following their FA Cup loss to Wigan Athletic. Fabio da Silva returns after being cup tied, but Mark Hudson, Craig Bellamy and Gary Medel are out.

Yannick Sagbo is likely to be dropped to the Hull bench despite scoring the equaliser at Brighton. Elsewhere, the Tigers are without Paul McShane, while James Chester and Liam Rosenior are both doubtful.
