Beckenbauer warns Kroos over Man Utd link
Franz Beckenbauer has warned Bayern Munich midfielder Toni Kroos not set his demands so high amid reports linking him to a move to Manchester United, according to Sky Sports.
Kroos’ contract with the German club ends in June next year but as of yet they have been unable to negotiate a new deal with the player.
The 24-year-old has also been linked with a big money move to Manchester United which could see him treble his earnings to £250,000 a week if he makes the switch.
“He shouldn't raise the stakes too high,” said Beckenbauer. “Bayern will make an effort to keep him, but when the demands are too high, a decision will be made.
“There is no player who you have to give everything to keep. Everyone is replaceable.”
The German has already had his wage demands rejected by the club and David Moyes could now make a £30m approach to bring the player to the Premier League.
Despite being unable to negotiate a new deal with the 24-year-old due to his wage demands, it is believed that the club are keen to hold onto the player.
“We know that he is a very good player and we want to continue with Kroos,” said Bayern’s director of sport, Matthias Sammer. “Everyone at the club sees it that way.”
