Mesut Ozil’s misery continued at the weekend as the German star was quizzed by police after it was alleged the car he was driving was involved in a collision with a photographer, report the Daily Mail.

The £42.5 million signing has not enjoyed the best of weeks following his penalty miss against Bayern Munich, and was not even in the squad for the Gunners’ 4- 1 win over Sunderland at the weekend.

The incident, in which the photographer suffered minor injuries, occurred Friday evening with police confirming they had spoken to the driver of the vehicle.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: “Police were called at approximately 7.18pm on Friday 21 February to reports of an alleged collision between a vehicle and a member of the public.

“The member of the public, a man in his 30s, sustained minor injuries. Officers have spoken to the driver of the vehicle.”

The spokesman said inquiries are ongoing and no arrests have been made.

Ozil has now flown back to Germany for a two day break in an attempt to get away on and off pitch problems and Wenger hopes the break will breathe fresh life back into his star playmaker.

Might be worth adding a picture of Ozil in his arsenal kit rather than a madrid kit...
