Tottenham will be aiming to bounce back from their surprise defeat at Norwich City with a home win over struggling Cardiff City on Sunday.

Head Coach Tim Sherwood went with an almost full-strength starting line-up as Spurs came from 2-0 down on aggregate to beat Dnipro and move into the last 16 of the Europa League on Thursday, but if they want to make the Champions League for next season, the 45-year-old knows that his team cannot afford to slip up here, especially as their poor performance at Carrow Road has left them six points behind Liverpool.

Having seen his side get thrashed in what was a must-win game against Hull City, Bluebirds boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was forced to call off a trip to the United Arab Emirates. The Norwegian surely must have reacted to the defeat last time out by working on his team’s defending, as they were opened up time and again by a Tigers side who made them look like a side doomed to relegation.

Vlad Chiriches and Erik Lamela are both out for Tottenham, although Younes Kaboul, Danny Rose, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Kyle Walker could all be fit enough to return.

Cardiff will assess the fitness of midfielder Jordon Mutch, but are unable to call upon Mark Hudson and Gary Medel.
