Tottenham Hotspur manager Tim Sherwood believes that his side will have no pressure on them to beat Premier League leaders Chelsea on Saturday, according to Sky Sports.

Spurs have not won at Stamford Bridge since 1990, a statistic that Sherwood believes is in his team’s favour.

Despite their appalling record in West London, Tottenham hold the best away record in the Premier League this season and Sherwood believes that his side will be playing with freedom.

"What's happened in the past we have to put to the back of our minds," he said. "We have to go there and impose ourselves and hopefully get a positive result.

"But there's absolutely no pressure on the boys because our record there is so bad, so we can go there, take the shackles off and enjoy the day.”

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is currently defending an unbeaten streak of 74 league games at Stamford Bridge but Sherwood has insisted his players will go there hoping for a surprise result.

"We're going to go up there and give it everything. It's a chance for them to put themselves in the record books and we're confident that we can spring a surprise, because after all it is going to be a surprise isn't it, if we beat Chelsea at the Bridge,” added the 45-year-old.

"They're top of the league and they have players in the squad who know how to win. He (Mourinho) has a fantastic record."
