PSG eyeing £40m bid for Chelsea’s Oscar
Paris St. Germain are targeting a £40m swoop for Chelsea’s Brazilian star Oscar ahead of the World Cup, according to the Daily Telegraph.
The Ligue 1 giants are weighing up an offer for the playmaker but could face competition, with Barcelona and Monaco both credited with an interest in the Brazilian international.
It is thought PSG’s interest in Oscar is strong but it remains to be seen whether an official bid will be made, and if Chelsea will want to sell the 22-year-old they signed from Brazilian club Internacional for £25m in July 2012.
Oscar currently has three years left to run on his contract and has impressed since arriving at Stamford Bridge - and is also set to be used as Brazil’s playmaker during the World Cup as the host nation gun for glory.
It is clear that Mourinho values the diminutive Brazilian, having built his attack this season around the number 10, deploying Eden Hazard and Willian either side and selling Spaniard Juan Mata to Manchester United for £37.1m.
