Arsenal midfielder Ozil facing injury lay-off
Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil will be out for at least a few weeks after being substituted with a hamstring injury at half-time during the game against Bayern Munich on Tuesday, writes BBC Sport.
Ozil struggled to make an impact in the first half and was replaced by Tomas Rosicky upon sustaining the injury, as Arsenal went out of the Champions League at the hands of the European champions, despite battling to a 1-1 draw at the Allianz Arena.
The North London’s club’s record signing will now have to undergo a scan on Wednesday to determine the extent of the injury, but will be out for at least a few weeks, according to manager Arsene Wenger.
Should that be the case, Ozil will now miss several crucial Premier League games in the coming weeks, including visits to London rivals Tottenham and Chelsea.
For Wenger, this latest setback adds to his growing injury crisis at the Emirates Stadium. Abou Diaby, Nacho Monreal and Theo Walcott are all long-term absentees, while Kieran Gibbs, Jack Wilshere, Aaron Ramsey and Yaya Sanogo all missed the trip to Munich through injury.
