Kompany: Remember famous QPR fightback

Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany has told his team to remember their dramatic 2012 title-win against QPR as they hope for another comeback against Barcelona, according to Sky Sports.

City will head to the Nou Camp looking to overcome a 2-0 home deficit in their away match-up, something that nobody in Champions League history has yet accomplished.

Despite Barcelona’s fearsome reputation at the Nou Camp, Kompany has said that City can grab an unexpected result, as they did when they secured the 2012 Premier League title in dramatic fashion.

"It would be great, but I've told you I'm a very difficult guy to convince of this doomed fate in this kind of situation," said Kompany.

"Just because I was two goals down with five minutes to go to win the league after 38 games. This game still gives us belief until today.

"We've kept winning stuff, playing big games, big finals, we've been progressing in the Champions League - people are forgetting that - and our time will come. Hopefully tomorrow, but our time will come.

"Never forget QPR."

The Belgian has already seen his side knocked out of the FA Cup in recent weeks but he believes it won’t be long before City are back to their best.

"The weight is off our shoulders and we need to find our mojo back which has made us a special team in the beginning of the season. What has actually made us a special team until up to three weeks ago, it's still there and someone is going to experience us coming back to full form," he said.

"This is our period and we'll get ourselves out of it, there's no doubt about it. It needs to happen hopefully on a big night or else it will happen soon."
