Arsenal have been handed a major boost with the news that Santi Cazorla and Aaron Ramsey, as well as youngster Gedion Zelalem, have signed new contracts with the club, reports the Independent.

Aaron Ramsey

Cazorla is currently in his second season at Arsenal, having joined from Malaga in the summer of 2012. He has impressed with is creativity, providing 19 assists in his 85 appearances for the club, during which he also scored 18 goals. The Spaniard will now stay at the club until 2016.

Signed as a promising youngster from Cardiff City back in 2008, Ramsey has become an integral part of the Arsenal team, and has emerged this season, scoring 13 goals in all competitions. The 23-year-old, who is currently injured, has committed his future to the North London club until 2018.

And after signing the new deal, Ramsey said: "I'm delighted to have signed a new contract. I've been here for six years and I'm so happy. I think we've shown so far this season what we're all about and the direction that this club wants to go in. I want to be a part of that, and to be a part of something special at Arsenal. We have a great team which we believe can achieve great things."

Meanwhile, Zelalem is seen by Arsenal as one of their brightest prospects for the future. The young German made his first-team debut back in January, during the 4-0 FA Cup win over Coventry City.
