Newcastle vs Crystal Palace - Premier League preview and team news

Crystal Palace will be aiming to steer clear of the Premier League’s bottom three by taking all three points away to Newcastle United.

Manager Alan Pardew was not given the opportunity to berate the officials for not giving Newcastle an injury time penalty at Fulham, in a game which ended in a somewhat disappointing defeat. With the Magpies in such a comfortable position in the table, the target now will be to finish as high as they can, in what has been a very up-and-down season for the men from Tyneside.

This is Crystal Palace’s second trip to the North East in two weeks, having emerged the happier side after they battled to a goalless draw against relegation rivals Sunderland in a nervy encounter. Defeat here could leave the Eagles in the bottom three, so Tony Pulis knows that they must take something here, particularly with a game against leaders Chelsea coming up next.

Top scorer Loic Remy is still out for Newcastle as well as full-backs Mathieu Debuchy and Davide Santon.

Marouane Chamakh is still absent for Crystal Palace, for whom Barry Bannan should be back after illness, although Dwight Gayle is doubtful with an ankle problem.
