Chelsea striker Ba set for summer move
Chelsea striker Demba Ba is looking to leave the club this summer, and has announced that his agent has begun negotiations over a move away from Stamford Bridge, Sky Sports has reported.
Ba arrived at Chelsea from Newcastle United in January 2013, but has struggled to establish himself as a regular in the first-team. Instead he has found himself behind Fernando Torres and, more recently, Samuel Eto’o in the Blues’ pecking order.
The Senegalese international has only appeared sporadically this season, scoring five goals in 21 appearances, most of which have come as a substitute. Since last summer, he has been linked with loan moves away from Chelsea, and now Ba has revealed he is looking to find a new club.
He told RMC: "My agent has spoken to the club about a departure and he has started speaking with other clubs about a contract for next season.
"I hope we can find the best option possible. I'd like to stay in England. I like other leagues, too. I'd like to try the Italian league. Nothing's been confirmed but there are a few teams in Italy who play very good football."
