Chelsea striker Demba Ba has said the Blues play teams the calibre of Champions League opponents Paris Saint-Germain regularly in the Premier League, ESPN has reported.

Ba was speaking to a French radio station and said that the French club’s strike force - led by Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Edinson Cavani - hold no fear for Chelsea since they play against strikers of such quality on a regular basis.

“Of course PSG's attack is good, but we play in the Premier League,” Ba, a PSG supporter, said. “When you play Manchester United, there’s [Wayne] Rooney and [Robin] van Persie. At [Manchester] City, there's [Sergio Aguero], [Alvaro] Negredo and [David] Silva. We also play Liverpool, who have two great strikers in [Daniel] Sturridge and [Luis]Suarez.

“Teams like PSG, with an exceptional attack, we play five or six times a season. We're a bit more used to playing this kind of game than PSG,” Ba continued. “At this level of the competition, experience is very important.

“Whether it be the coaching or the players, we have that experience. Even if Paris are fresher, we have a very experienced team with old hands such as [Samuel] Eto’o and [Frank] Lampard, who are used to handling this kind of game.”

Ba, a Senegal international, was born in an area in the southwest suburb of Paris and started his career at Rouen, in the sixth tier of French football. He later moved to Belgium’s Mouscron, Hoffenheim in Germany and Premier League West Ham, joining Chelsea from Newcastle in January 2013.
