Pulis: Mourinho one of the best

Crystal Palace manager Tony Pulis believes his Chelsea counterpart Jose Mourinho is one of the best managers in the world, Sky Sports has reported.

Jose Mourinho

The sides meet at Selhurst Park on Saturday and Pulis was asked for his thoughts on the Portuguese at his pre-match Press conference.

“For me Jose is one of the elite managers in the world,” Pulis said. “If you look at his record he has managed the great teams and the great teams need to win and he does that for them. He doesn't just do it on home soil, but does that away as well.”

Pulis added that he has only met Mourinho once and was impressed by him, but pointed out that Mourinho’s good nature could have been explained by the three points Chelsea had just taken from Palace.

“I met him after the game at Stamford Bridge and he's interesting,” Pulis continued. “Whether you like him or dislike him for what he is, there is no doubting he is a top manager.

“The time I had with him was charming, but they had just beaten us. It would be nice to see on Saturday if he's charming.”
