Stoke vs Hull - Premier League preview and team news

Stoke City will be hoping to make it three Premier League wins in succession as they take on Hull City at the Britannia Stadium.

Under Mark Hughes, the Potters are really beginning to show some quality, and they delivered arguably their best performance of the season last time out as they thrashed Aston Villa with the help of some slick attacking football. Now 12 points above the relegation zone and surely safe from the threat of going down, Stoke can now set their sights on their first top half finish in the Premier League.

Hull have not won many games in the second half of the season, but it would still take a major collapse for them to drop out of the top-flight. Currently eight points clear of the bottom three, they were frustrated in their attempts to all but guarantee their safety with a win at West Ham United on Wednesday, where they went down to 10 men and lost despite coming away with some credit for their battling display.

The home side have Stephen Ireland back available after he was unable to face former club Villa. Oussama Assaidi is nearing a return, but Robert Huth is still out.

Steve Harper will play in goal for Hull with Allan McGregor likely to miss the rest of the season with kidney problems sustained at Upton Park. George Boyd completes a three-match ban.
